The Doing Good Foundation Limited is the new name for local Bay of Plenty registered charity previously known as Habitat for Humanity (BOP) Limited.
The Doing Good Foundation (DGF) will retain the same dedicated staff and strategic focus on building homes for families in genuine need in the Bay of Plenty region and will now operate as an independent entity from Habitat for Humanity NZ.
Claire Szabo, CEO of Habitat for Humanity NZ, says “we want to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank them for their long service and significant contribution. Our local affiliate has operated in Bay of Plenty since 1994. Over that time, their team of volunteers and staff has built 75 homes, housing around 500 people in the local community”.
“In particular, we want to thank board members, Jim and Ann Dowman, Albie Sands and Paul Broatch who have passionately and tirelessly worked to achieve positive housing outcomes for the Bay of Plenty community over the past 25 years. We wish them all the best as they continue to do great work in the community,” says Ms Szabo.
Mr Max Mason, Chair of DGF, says the transition to the new name will be seamless as Habitat BOP company ownership, directors and staff will simply operate under their new name. All current home recipients will continue to be served and supported under the new, local organisation.
